This programme lays a foundation of each design and style philosophy and technical knowledge for students who intend to pursue a profession in the architecture, supplying the background coaching in visual communication, fundamental two and three dimensional styles, architectural theory and history, and fundamental constructing methodology and building technologies for the students to practice or to continue with further study in architecture. It equips students with the technical aptitude, specialist understanding and capabilities with each other with the needed knowledge in developing regulations, skilled language, leadership qualities, interpersonal expertise, and the blend of theoretical information and sensible application, to enable them to pursue careers in the profession of architecture. It also aims to cultivate a holistic strategy to design education that encompasses each conceptual and professional research to strengthen graduates’ capability of independent choice-generating.

In 1513, Henrique, son of Dom Affonso, then King of the Congo, was sent to Lisbon and to Rome to study theology. In 1520, Pope Leo X appointed Henrique Bishop of Utica and Vicar-apostolic of the Congo. Sadly, Henrique died just before he could return to the Congo. He was Rome’s 1st Central African bishop. The royal archives of Portugal still hold the records reflecting the ceremonial respect that was paid to this Christian son of an African king and queen.
